Recovering cylindric and conic surfaces from contours and reflections
نویسندگان
چکیده
Cylindric and conic metallic parts are considered, which are subject to surface treatments (such as, e.g., lathe ®nishing or grinding) that make both Lambertian re ̄ection models and purely specular ones inadequate. A new re ̄ection model is introduced for such surface treatments, and a method is derived for the determination of the pose and the intrinsic geometric parameter of a cylindric surface or a conic one starting from a single view. This method uses both the projection of the outline of the surface and the re ̄ection of known light sources onto it. Ó 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Representation of Digitized Contours in Terms of Conic Arcs and Straight-Line Segments
One of the most interesting tasks of scene analysis is the reconstruction problem, which is the problem of finding a three-dimensional description of a scene from two or more projections. When the scene is assumed to be composed of man-made objects bounded by quadric surfaces, the reconstruction process is simplified if the border lines in each projection are given by means of straight-line seg...
متن کاملSurface reconstruction of detect contours for medical image registration purpose
Although, most of the abnormal structures of human brain do not alter the shape of outer envelope of brain (surface), some abnormalities can deform the surface extensively. However, this may be a major problem in a surface-based registration technique, since two nearly identical surfaces are required for surface fitting process. A type of verification known as the circularity check for th...
متن کاملElectronic Skeletons: Modeling Skeletal Structures with Piecewise Algebraic Surfaces
We present two algorithms to construct C1-smooth models of skeletal structures from CT/NMR voxel data. The boundary of the reconstructed models consist of a C1-continuous mesh of triangular algebraic surface patches. One algorithm first constructs Cl-continuous piecewise conic contours on each of the CT/NMR data slices and then uses piecewise triangular algebraic surface patches. to C1 interpol...

We propose a computational model for interpreting line drawings as threedimensional surfaces, based on constraints on local surface orientation along extremal and discontinuity boundaries. Specific techniques are described for two key processes: recovering the three-dimensional conformation of a space curve (e.g., a surface boundary) from its two-dimensional projection in an image, and interpol...
